School in Phone

 In the end, I don't think Google's program will completely replace college education.  But I do think it's a step in the right direction--a separate path for students who are looking for something different than traditional higher education. And it's coming at a time when it's needed most:  A time when a global pandemic has thrust millions out of jobs.  A time where skills-based training is in great demand. For those who have held up progress for far too long, consider yourselves warned:  Disruption has arrived. Change is coming. https://www.inc.com/justin-bariso/google-career-certificates-plan-disrupt-college-degree-university-genius.html?cid=sf01002

叠加式进步

 进步是可叠加的,这个思维很重要。 如果你今天做了一件事,对你来讲,没有可叠加的进步,你就不要去做它,因为你这是浪费生命。 使用科学的方法去叠加自身的技能,站在前人的贡献上获得叠加式进步的动力。 杜邦,美国的化工大王,他既没有发明电,也不懂电,但他只知道一条,要用电。这就是成就了他一世英明。 我们很难成为瓦特、爱迪生和比尔盖茨,但换一个角度,成为韦奇伍德,成为杜邦和西蒙斯还有可能的。你今天要了解硬核的人工智能技术比较难,但是你说把它用好,还是有可能的。 掌握核心科技的人只有2%,受益者其实很少,但是剩下98%的人有一个分类,一类人固守现状,而另一类则赶快使用新技术。 你要利用好某个技术,你的成功才是可以叠加和复制的,你在原创性发明人的基础上才会更进一步,后者就有可能赶上历史的快车,这是我们从历代工业革命和科技发展中找到一个规律。 <<真正的发明是从0到N的过程>> 也许看到这你会感叹自己能力的不足,对于瓦特、比尔盖茨这类大神真的是望尘莫及。 那么你更应该读历史,了解科学,因为这些成功都不是偶然事件,而是必然事件。 一个错误的前提,可以得到任何合理的结论,合乎逻辑的结论。所以科学和正确不能划等号。 所以说科学家,其实是一个很悲催的职业。因为当你提出一个结论,你就向全世界科学家说,请你来证伪我的结论。 人生相当于一条河, 一辈子可以留下两个东西。 一个是你传递后代, 你会由衷感到高兴; 另一个就是留下遗产, 这个遗产其实不是物质遗产, 留下的那点钱, 换算到今天, 都值不了什么钱, 实际上是一种精神遗产。 你总要对社会有正向的贡献, 哪怕贡献很小, 后代才能在你的基础上再往前走一步, 才可以获得叠加式进步。 摘自 吴军最新演讲 : 历史总在重演   科技是唯一可叠加式进步的动力 {AI报道}

Success

  Success is not for just the interested, but for the committed. The interested works only when the time is convenient, the committed makes all the time convenient. The interested accept excuses, the committed accepts results. You can't conquer what you are not committed to. Commitment precedes success; even in the dictionary. Stay committed, even though it hurts. Success blesses those who pay attention to its move. Remember: Success is never an accident, it is always a result of a commitment to excellence and a focused effort. Success never comes to people, people go for success, so if you are waiting, wait no more. It is action time. “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” “Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.” Success will never lower its standards to accommodate you. You have to raise your standards to achieve success.

Steve Jobs on Focus

Why you need the 30 per cent rule We live in an age of distraction.  Never-ending notifications, instantaneous communication, and easy access to endless information.  Fear of missing out moves us motivates us to try to do everything that our minds and hearts desire. But as you move from one shiny object to another, you'll slowly discover a fundamental truth: You can't do everything.  And if you try, you won't do anything well. Steve Jobs Used the 30 Percent Rule to Bring Apple Back From the Dead (It'll Work for You, Too) By focusing on the best of the best, Jobs transformed Apple into one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Jeff Bezos on Success

What Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, the richest man on the planet, with a net worth of $144 billion, values beyond the almighty dollar: To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children;  to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;  to appreciate beauty;  to find the beauty in others;  to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;  to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded. Doing what we love as entrepreneurs and business owners is a major contributor to our happiness as humans.  And, more important, knowing what you love should be a top priority.  If you don't know what it is you love, then finding out what it is should be your first step. According to Jeff Bezos, This May Be the Best Definition of Success He's Ever Read How do you define your succ...

Warren Buffet on Achievements

1. Don't risk what you have to get something you don't need. Most businesses and individuals put themselves at risk to chase after bigger things, usually out of greed when they should have held back. "If you risk something that is important to you for something that is unimportant to you, it just doesn't make sense. I don't care if the odds you succeed are 99 to 1 or 1,000 to 1." 2. Invest in relationships with honest and ethical people. "That would be the person who is generous, honest, and who gave credit to other people for their own ideas." 3. Measure your life's success through one word:  love . In the Buffett biography, The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, Buffett explains that the highest measure of success in life comes  "by how many of the people you want to have love you actually do love you." Warren Buffett Says 3 Decisions in Life Separate High Achievers From Mere Dreamers If the third-richest man in the u...
